Christians are living in a time of cultural exile that often leads to a pessimistic apprehension of God’s presence in the world. Jeremiah was written for this modern world. As Israel struggled in exile, God sent His prophet with a message of His eternal covenant with His people. This course will delve into the historical import of Jeremiah, create an atmosphere for discussing the intended purpose of the suffering servant, and culminate with an understanding of Jeremiah’s continued import for modern Christian belief.
